The Trust accepts that from time to time you may need to be absent from work through urgent/unforeseen or planned needs arising from domestic, personal and family reasons. It also acknowledges the importance of civic and public duties undertaken by many employees. In order to help in these situations, we provide generous special leave provisions, which can be viewed on our intranet, the Knowledge Centre, when you join us.

Employee Assistance Programme
All of our staff have access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) via website or phone. This is a free and independent confidential advice service, available 24 hours a day, that offers counselling, practical advice or emotional support with both work and personal issues. The online portal provides information and advice on a very wide range of issues that may be concerning you, including:
- Legal advice wills, tax, probate.
- Financial advice: debt advice and solutions
- Health & wellbeing advice: stress management, nutrition, depression, fitness
- Family issues: divorce, parenting teenagers, internet safety for children.
- Work issues: redundancy, disciplinary issues.

Heath at work advisors can offer initial support over the telephone, booked face to face or video consultations or at drop in sessions. Advice and referrals can be offered on suitable ongoing support services as required.
NHS England Staff Support Line
Confidential staff support line, operated by the Samaritans and free to access daily 7am – 11pm. Trained advisers can help with signposting and confidential listening.
