Patients and visitors to Lister Hospital, Stevenage, are being advised to plan ahead as roadworks in the surrounding areas will likely cause delays until late summer 2024.
As part of the construction of the housing development currently taking place along North Road for Stevenage North, we have been informed by Hertfordshire County Council that there will be further road closures on North Road from Monday 25 March.
Road closures will be in place for approximately 20 weeks to allow for the safe construction of a new permanent access route for the new residential properties. The works are expected to be completed by 31 August.
This means that those accessing North Road from Lister Hospital’s gate 6 will not be able to turn left towards Graveley Road until 1 September. Access to and from the Lister will continue, via the A602 and Corey’s Mill Lane.
Vehicle access to North Road via Coreys Mill Lane will be maintained for hospital staff, hospital visitors, emergency vehicles, residents and deliveries only. Patients and visitors will still be able to access Lister’s multi-storey car park.
If you are visiting the Lister Hospital during the dates of the road works, we urge you to plan ahead for your journey, and allow extra time to make up for potential delays caused by Stevenage roadworks.
We will be updating this webpage with information from Hertfordshire County Council as it is received.
