Trained in clinical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital London and has been consultant in clinical oncology at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood since 1992. Professor in Clinical Oncology in the University of Manchester and Honorary consultant in clinical oncology at the Christie Hospital, Manchester. Research interests focus on radiosensitisation, biomarkers, radiotherapy quality assurance, palliative radiotherapy, and brachytherapy.
